Air Products Norway team at Samsung Yard for start-up of the membrane nitrogen generator package for the Shell Prelude FLNG.

The membrane nitrogen generator package for the Prelude FLNG is now under start-up/commission at Samsung Yard. The package is the largest membrane nitrogen installed ever on a floating facility, and yes: “The Prelude FLNG is huge”, according to Air Products engineers at Samsung Yard in Goje-Korea.
The Prelude FLNG is the first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) build, and will operate in the Browse Basin, Australia.

The membrane nitrogen package will supply a total of 8500 Nm3/h @ 3 Vol % O2 + 126 Nm3/h at 0,1 Vol % 02 when in operation. The nitrogen dew point is set to -65 °C and -76 °C. The skid dimension are 12 x 14 x 5 (L x W x H) meter with a total weight of 70 tons.
